Reflecting on My 2025 Quilting Journey
Before I list the quilts and sewing projects I worked on this year, I want to pause for a moment.
Reflection matters. Not to count finishes, not to measure productivity, and definitely not to compare with anyone else’s sewing journey. This year reminded me that progress doesn’t always look loud. Some seasons are steady. Some are quiet. Many are made up of small pockets of time, 20 minutes here, a few stitches there and THAT still counts.

If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t “make enough” this year, I hope this list encourages you.
These projects aren’t about numbers or finishes — they’re about showing up when I could and finding joy in the process.

Progress Doesn’t Need to Be Loud
Every time I stepped into the sewing room, even briefly, I was choosing to care for myself. Sewing has never been about rushing to the finish line. It’s about being present with the fabric in my hands, the hum of the machine, and the calm that follows. Slow progress is still progress, and unfinished projects still carry meaning.

Letting Go of Comparison
It’s easy to look at what others are making and feel like we’re falling behind. But our timelines are different. Our capacities are different. And that’s okay. The goal isn’t to keep up. It’s to stay connected to what brings us joy and to create at a pace that fits our real lives.
Making Time for What Brings Joy
Making time for the things we love isn’t a luxury. It’s necessary especially during full and demanding seasons of life.
This quote stayed with me throughout the year:
If you feel burnt out, sometimes it’s not because you’re doing too many things —
rather, you’re doing too many things that don’t bring you joy.
Sewing is one of those joyful anchors for me. Even when progress is slow. Even when a project stays unfinished for a while. The joy is in showing up.

A Year Made of Small, Meaningful Moments
So this list isn’t a checklist of achievements. It’s a reflection of the moments I gave myself permission to sew, create, and enjoy, one stitch at a time.

Thank you for sharing your completed works and including your works in progress too. Those represent lots of my time. Last year I tried to do one at a time (boring hahaha) in the bigger quilting. But it did help me stay a little bit more focused. Blessings in 2026 to you. I really appreciate you doing this blog it’s a favorite of mine ❤️💐
