Hi there!

I am glad I was able to squeeze time to make these lovely cuties!

The pattern is from Patchwork Please Book. You can get the book HERE.

Patchwork Please_Tea Cosy_Paper Piecing Text

Can’t tell you how much fun I had so far joining in Zakka 2.0 – I love this book (Patchwork Please by Ayumi Takahashi) though I do feel that it is a bit hard to read instruction. I read many many times before I could imagine it. I am just so used to photo or diagrams instruction!

But working hard on reading instruction really paid off! Huhu.

Here are more photos of my version of Lettered Tea Cosy! With my favourite tea, Earl Grey. What’s your favourite tea?

Patchwork Please_ Tea Pouch
I love that cute button I bought here. Isn’t she just cute! Strapped down to the tea pouch!

Patchwork Please_Tea Cosy_Paper Piecing Text_flat
I used a letter theme for the main piece, as I could imagine drinking tea while reading lovely letters! As if there are any letters I could ever received these days, all are bills normally! LOL

I was so excited when I saw the word Earl Grey on one of the fabrics I have in my stash!

I enjoyed making these, and will keep using them! and I have to say, my kitchen is slowly filled with many handmade as I go through Zakka 2.0!

Paper Piecing does produce lots of mess as you go, cutting away those extra pieces, I now make sure I have a bin close to me so that I don’t make a big mess like I use to!

And, since another of my table is being folded down (because my sister is coming to visit – and need to make space) I use scissors to cut away those excesses as it requires less space than a cutting mat and a rotary cutter! found it to be quite convenient!

Hi!
This week on Zakka 2.0, we are sewing Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Towels!
These towels were fun to make but raw edging those words was quite challenging for me.
Here are mine hanging on the oven rail:

Hi!
Finally I get to show you what I made for the Make it Right challenge! (update:this challenge has passed June 2013)
When I got the fabric, I just know that I don’t want to make it into a quilt. I just want to think a bit out of the box. Indeed I did – and when I want to submit it, I was thinking “hm… which category should it be in? Quilt? Apparel or Home Deco?” Finally I submit it into Home Deco.

I would really appreciate it if you could take a bit of time to like and repin on pinterest!
Click HERE to pinterest pin and click repin or like, because that is the vote they count for the challenge.
Anyway, I made this because the car seat is dull and of course I need to sew something to cheer it up!
And just because I made the backing as nice, I made it reversible too! The improved piecing is the back. Even the back pocket panel can be reversible!

You can refer to this post for the type of material and threads I used for this project.
Here are more photos: I quilt as happily as I can be. With very little planning really. I was just having fun most of the time! Glad it made it to the end!

All quilting was done on my . Bunnings (hardware store here in Australia) Glove works as good as machinger’s glove and cost only 1/3 of machinger! And the colour is blue!
The ruler story : I do not change foot while quilting this despite of many straight lines,  because I can’t be that patience! LOL.. I find this Fine LIne Quilter’s Ruler helpful to use on domestic machine, but sometimes foot can jump over it too! talk about dangerous (imagine the needle snapping on it)..you can find the ruler HERE > if you are interested.
Update: I love the ruler now that I can use it with my non-hopping foot!

Modern Placemat_with dessert
One of the weekend I spent a night finishing up one of the thing that has been on the UFO pile. One of them was the modern placemat. I didn’t quite like the top I made. However, once it was quilted, I think I am pretty happy with it.
Modern Placemat_a
The modern placemat is one of the project in Quilting Modern which I bought many months ago and this was a project that I started not long after I got the book.then it was piled on the UFO pile for quite sometimes…thankfully it got finished and can now be used.

Hi!
I hope you are all having a lovely start to a good weekend!

I did. With a little sewing love.

Liberty Love All Zipped Up bag1

This is the first project I made from the book Liberty Love. I thought I would have started on the Marcelle Medallion quilt that has been popping over around blogland — which you may want to pop over and see some of the amazingly beautiful Marcelle medallion quilt here by Svetlana@Sotak Handmade and Rita@RedPepperQuilt here and sweet one by Cindy@Hyacinth Quilt Design here.

As much as I wanted to start making this quilt, I didn’t. I still have three quilts to quilt so I don’t dare to start another top!

Liberty Love All Zipped Up bag3

I love a quick finished. It boost your motivation to find more time on the sewing machine. I need that. I need to find time to get quilting all the three quilt tops here, here and my Happy Go Lucky from simplify Book.

Anyway,

Liberty Love All Zipped Up bag2

I have to say I love the finish of this “All Zipped Up bag”. However, it is quite large to my liking. Remember I made the Emmaline Bag sometimes ago. I didn’t use it much and gave it to my mother.

But maybe I’ll use this for some occassion where I need to put a lot of things in the bag. I love how casual it looks too with the fabric choices.

Well, I am off to more sewing! I have few other quick little things to sew before getting my mood to quilting.  I’ll soon share with you what I had sewn for Covert Robin and what I received!

Till then,

Have a lovely relaxed weekend!
XOXO

NOTE : I no longer promote Craftsy/Bluprint as I used to due to the way the subscription is currently being carried out. I had the issue of cancelling my subscription when the company changed hand and I find that cancelling through calls is inconvenient. However, I do still stand behind these classes I promote and if you are subscribed, you can surely check these classes I recommend on the platform. If you are looking for another online platform to learn craft such as quilting, do check out CreativeBug. It is much cheaper in subscription (subscribe now 3 months for only $5). Thank you.

In this post,  I am sharing with you the tutorial for drawstring bag with handle. Like these ones I made :

These are perfect for lunch bags, I have made many to gift friends and for myself. They are the perfect size (I have here a tutorial for 2 sizes). They are easy to grab, use and wash. Believe me, my friends love theirs!

Hi!

I finished my first Emmaline Bag. I say its the first as I do have plan to make more..Love it.. The instruction were clear and makes everything so smooth and easy!

Emmaline Bag Done

Lately I have not been a fan of large bag since I like to stuff things in my handbags, the bigger it is the more things I put in – which really is unnecessary.. but since this bag is done, I think I might turn my head around again for large bags.. LOL

Ooo and that knit books – I plan to start learning how to knit..and socks too.. aren’t I being too ambitious.. LOL..

Emmaline Bag Done 2

I made this bag using a corduroy fabric I bought during one of the thrift trip.. It was just enough to make this bag. though it was a medium weight fabric, I sewed my Emmaline bag with fusible fleece anyway. The interior is by Michael Miller, Dumb Dot Citron. I love it. Bright and cheery..

Well, apart from that, a friend of mine just gave birth to a boy and I decided to whip up a quick modern quilt.. I am almost done with it, but today I’ll be sharing a sneak peek. Will post a whole quilt photo tomorrow..

w.i.p modern baby quilt

Oh yes, and I have been playing with a cute fox … Love this organic cotton and design from Monaluna. I got my set of Monaluna Fox Hollow bundle at fabricworm. Fabulous!

Tried a concentric circle quilting with a walking foot too. Thanks to this tutorial.

Round Bucket Bag Sneek Peak
Well, I guess that’s it for today.
Have a fun weekend!!

Hi!

I made my pillow cover for a swap to my secret partner already! Feeling good that it’s done which ticks of my list of things to do this weekend.

Well, she wanted a brown and blue cushion cover for her living room. I must say, I do not have much of those colour in my stash, but were happy to find that I still have a charm pack of Bold and Beautiful by Michelle D’amor (the same line I used for my Happy Go Lucky Quilt here). So, I decided to play around with some HST.

Prep_HST Pillow

And I did more of these pebble quilting. With some flowers to match the fabric.
