Irish Chain 1

Irish Chain 2

Organic leaves border (I say organic as they are not drawn, it was totally free motion and if you look closely, they are so many wonky leaves around too.. LOL)

Border of Irish Cahin - free leaves. organic and natural

The quilt is a bit wavy on the border – I should have spent a bit more time on the measurement of the border..O well, I am pleased with it anyway, besides, this is still my third quilt finished. It’s a good lesson to learn.

The backing was pieced. With the extra blocks I made. I love how the quilting turns out on the backing too..
The curves around the squares at the front turns out to be a circle line at the back..

It was a bit challenging to take good photo of this quilt.. I am not fully satisfied with the whole quilt photo.. I am still practising to take a good photo. Lighting is definitely essential. Too much exposure wouldn’t help either.. So, I better find a bit of shade next time rather in an open field..

I learned a lot through this quilt..a lot of satisfaction too. By the way, if you want to read on tips of using monofilament thread for quilting. I found this useful. Till then, have a great day!

  1. Hi Amira, I am very impressed with your finished quilt. Your ‘quilting’ for a 3rd quilt is amazing, especially when it is done with a ‘domestic’ machine. My ‘hats off’ to you for a job well done. I love reading your blog and shall be looking forward to reading more.

  3. Your Irish Chain quilt is awesome – you have so much to be proud of with this finish! I can’t believe it’s only your 3rd quilt. I hear you on taking quilt pictures. I’ve been struggling with taking good quilt pictures for a few years now. But you can’t go wrong if you have your cute kid sneaking into a picture here and there!
